I run Windows 10 via bootcamp on my Macbook, and encountered an issue where it couldn't connect to the Apple update servers after an upgrade to version 2.2.
The error message in question states: "The Apple Software Update Server could not be found. Check your internet settings and try again."
To work around the issue:
- Fire up IE11
- Click the gear, then internet options
- Click the "Advanced" tab
- Scroll down to the "Security" section
- Uncheck "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"
- Attempt to check for updates using Apple Software Update again, and it should work.
It's not a great workaround, but it's the only one I've found.
